Gross. As if a rank emote isn't bad enough.

/signed if the minimum experience needed is over 5 mil

Why not make it something useful, like an emote for having all mission bonuses (an actual accomplishment) and put in a bunch of really challenging things that are difficult to do in the game, and give emotes for those.
I could definatley live with an emote as a reward for completing all the Titan's Quests, or clearing UW, or the FoW. Anything that encourages the cool, challenging PvE play as opposed to the boring, mind-numbing "let's farm for drops" crap.

Adding as a reward for Exp will hurt PvE.

Adding it as a reward for difficult quests will help PvE.

It's that simple.

The last thing we need is discrimination in PvE, its bad enough in PvP as it is.

agreed. with PvE rank emotes it will be even harder for people with less experience points to find PUGs. for example, people will be spamming "LF r9+ warrior for UW" or "starting r6+ oro farm emote next to storage" its hard enough to get into a PUG in HoH when you're unranked, why bring that into the PvE side of the game.

I guess, but I see it another way. I gave up on PUGs long ago. They are filled with people that generally have no idea about how the game works and how skills and creatures interact with each other. I would like to be able to join PUGs again. I find them more fun but, without any way to distinguish a player that is on his or her fifth or sixth character and someone who bought the game yesterday and bought some gold on E-bay and managed to get run to all the "cool" places with "sweet" loot, or "elite" skills, I just tend to end up in groups full of people that do not realize that missions can take over an hour.

In my opinion anyone on their first character is new to the game. You do not get a real sense on what is happening on the field until you have some experience at different roles.

Granted, farmers will have exadurated numbers, but if you meet someone with 1 million experience, from "playing" the game, they will more than likely be able to be trusted. 1 million experience on an account is truly easy to get. I deleted my Ranger that had about 500,000 exp from playing the game PvE and PvP. My Necro had over 600,000 exp when I deleted it. I have three other characters. So, a million experience is not much to ask in my opinion.

Some may think I am brash, but I think that this could help reunite the experienced players with PUGs. This would not guarantee that higher ranked players will be better, but the chances of enjoying your PvE experience would be greater.

I do not think that the new players would loose much. Most of the people familiar with the game do not play in PUGs at this point anyway.

I would like it to be better than the rank system, though. If there are 12 PvE ranks, I would like there to be some way to distinguish a rank 5 from a rank 3. Maybe not a new emote, but some way to tell the difference. Somehow in tombs gaining rank 5 means nothing except that your poor little rank 3 emote is really a poor showing on the amount of fame you have collected.

meh

Lol. Emotes for everything.

How about an emote to prove that you've graduated from pre-searing on 3 different characters =O

We dont really need another way to disciminate or prejudge players. Demonstrate your experience by playing well and others will notice this.

Thats a good idea

maybe instead of like a cheetah or something the emote would be of my Mom doing my laundry and getting me a glass of milk so I dont have to move my fatass from the computer chair.

well maybe they should just have an accomplishment menu. my bro plays starwars and sometimes i get on his account and screw around. he has this check list screen too..everyone does. if u click on their name and like click alt or something it says everything they have done. Things such as:
Important Quests/Items
Places they have seen
Weapons they have got
Wat they are and wat teir of stuff they have unlocked
Exp points
Wat faction they are with
and so on.
i would think that would be the easiest way to say it. it would hep people pick out who's good and bad.

An emote based on the amount of money you have would be nice. Maybe gold coins falling around you and the sound of a cash register.

For each 100K in your account more coins would appear.

the point of emotes is only for a few people to have it. if they started giving emotes for such accomplishments as 1 million exp. or 100,000 gold, cities and towns will start to be really annoying with those emote-happy people flashing emotes all over the place. making emotes available for everybody is a bad idea.

Its annoying enough with the normal rank emotes tbh, but only because I don't have one to flash around yet :P. If the emotes could be ignored, or scaled back somehow for those who don't want to see them that would be nice too.

Maybe a money emote could kick off around the 500K+ or 1Mill mark, or have a tiny emote for those with not much money, e.g the tinkle, tinkle of copper coins, and have the emote increase gradually. (I'd only have a small emote though )

This isn't really the sort of emote that to flash around I think, considering the number of people who may message you to borrow money.

I'd work for a PvE emote. Definitely a better goal than spending time farming for gold or items, for the next GW expansion. There definitely needs to be some sort of way to avoid 'elitism', if this was implemented. It wouldn't be that difficult though. I'd also have to get into the power leveling business if this came into effect.

You know what they should do, ANET should have treasure buried somewhere on the continent, and then provide clues to finding it. That would be kinda awesome. It would encourage thinking and solving puzzles perhaps.

i'd like to see both this /experience emote as well as a party wide /age emote

when i'm recruiting for "experienced" members i'd like to be able to see their experience and age.. because generally 1 week and 100k exp isn't very experienced. :x

I've heard this so many times...

First of all, besides just the satisfaction of being able to do so, what the hell point is there to have this? Emotes in PVP mean little, and they would mean much, MUCH less if they were added to PVE. You may be able to "farm fame" to a degree, but you can, quite literally, power level forever. As it is, I have quite a bit of experiance and those that need to know, know already.

Second, THIS ALREADY EXISTS. FoW armor for the win... and don't say that isn't legit. "LOL EBAY WTF NOOB"... yea, EBay the gold and then pay for power levels for a week or so would be about the same. For the love of Melandru, please, NO.

Oh great, so the 55hp non-english-speaking monks can scam their way into more teams by pretending they're experienced?

Have pride in your own XP, if you want an ego trip... well tough!

I agree with Avarra and Zi, that it isn't necessary. Then again, pvp emotes aren't really necessary also... Especially after the IWAY wave..

I wonder what emote a pve -er would have. The idea is mindboggling....
a Grawl emote? that could look pretty cool probably.
a wurm jumping from the earth? so-so...to much in the face.
a devourer? meh.
an ataxe? decent looks

mindboggling.

i agree, why a expereince emote? it shows nothing, other than your ability to spend long peroids of time with the same build solo farming. That does not show skill. In addition i dont particularly trust rank emotes either. This may be becuase i dont have one :P. Quite simply tho, i play much GvG, but cant get into a decent team becuase i have no rank. Rank often excludes many n00bish players, but sometimes leaves some more experienced players out. In the long run an experience emote will show nothing, and only give the frankly exploitive 55hp solo monks another way of upping their egos.

And for the record, FoW armour isnt a sign of experience or amount of farming. It can be a sign of paypal skills, but for more experienced pvp characters can indictate success in HoH runs.

I'm definetly all for PvE accomplishment emotes. Maybe for the elite missions for Factions. The more times you complete the elite missions the more "pve fame" or whatever you want to call it you get, and then you eventually get better emotes. I'm assuming the elite missions are gunna be really hard, and wont be solo-able so you wouldnt have people be able to farm for PvE emotes.
